In real estate news, interest rates went up again as the Federal Reserve continued their battle in slowing down the economy. In our local market, we’ve seen a moderate halt with buying and selling.  Buyer’s can’t or won’t pay high monthly mortgage payments with home prices holding steady and rates hitting a 22 year record high.  Seller’s can’t or won’t sell because they in turn become buyer’s that refuse to give up their low interest rate.  And so it creates a cycle of waiting for rates to come down and waiting for home prices to drop (not forecasted to happen).  The more people wait, the more people will enter the market once rates come down and we will create another frenzy with home prices increasing due to demand and buyer’s having to bring more cash to close.  Utah has enough demand now from buyer’s that have cash, are coming from out of state or seller’s tapping into their equity rich homes and downsizing.  Can you imagine the demand from buyer’s that are waiting?? As always, I will keep you up to date with what I’m currently seeing in the market but if you are thinking about making a move, let’s get a plan in place for when the time is right for you!  Give me a call or send me a message through social media.
