Iceberg Drive Inn is nearing completion at 758 S Spanish Fork Pkwy (in the Walmart Neighborhood shopping center).  They are planning on opening in September and I’ll let you know when I hear of a grand opening date.

Target is on track to open in October and I will be giving away a gift card to celebrate!  Stay tuned for more information.

Spanish Fork Parkway railroad crossing construction continues on with a completion date towards the end of November.  It will help alleviate the congestion on 400 N and be a main thoroughfare for North Spanish Fork and Mapleton areas.

The Soda Mix is still under construction in the Walmart Neighborhood shopping center.  I will keep you updated as soon as I get an opening date.

Harvest Moon Hurrah is Saturday, September 9th from 3-8pm at the park at 49 S Main Street with various children’s crafts, food trucks and musical performances from many local groups.

The Chamber of Commerce is continuing the Farmer’s Market every Saturday at 775 W Center Street (near the police station) until the end of October.  In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, you can get artisan bread, local honey, and many other delicious goodies.  Stop by early for the best selection and keep shopping local!

Real Estate: In the past few weeks, interest rates have reached a 21 year high!  While the Federal Reserve is doing all that it can to curb inflation, what do high interest rates mean for Utah? Generally speaking, it hasn’t affected our state that much. Our price per sq ft has remained steady as well as our median sold price.  While other states are seeing large dips in values, Utah is not.  There are a few microclimates that have seen dips but overall, Utah is in great shape.  And when you think about how interest rates have more than DOUBLED in such a short amount of time, I’d say we are actually in EXCELLENT shape! Having said that, I can not emphasize enough how vital it is that buyers are getting preapproved before shopping for a home and also getting their pre-approval updated often.  As rates fluctuate, your purchasing power does as well.  Sellers need to price their home correctly the minute it hits the market and not price it for what they “hope to get”. Remember, a market analysis of your home is always free and so is a consultation to guide you through the intricate process of buying and selling!
