Real Estate: In the past few weeks, interest rates have reached a 21 year high! While the Federal Reserve is doing all that it can to curb inflation, what do high interest rates mean for Utah? Generally speaking, it hasn’t affected our state that much. Our price per sq ft has remained steady as well as our median sold price. While other states are seeing large dips in values, Utah is not. There are a few microclimates that have seen dips but overall, Utah is in great shape. And when you think about how interest rates have more than DOUBLED in such a short amount of time, I’d say we are actually in EXCELLENT shape! Having said that, I can not emphasize enough how vital it is that buyers are getting preapproved before shopping for a home and also getting their pre-approval updated often. As rates fluctuate, your purchasing power does as well. Sellers need to price their home correctly the minute it hits the market and not price it for what they “hope to get”. Remember, a market analysis of your home is always free and so is a consultation to guide you through the intricate process of buying and selling!
