April 2020 - Spanish Fork Happenings

When I thought of what I could possibly write about during this unprecedented time, I kept coming back to all the good there is in Spanish Fork.  The people, the community, city workers, businesses, just to name a few.  Here are some things “Happening” around town right now.

The city is in the process of turning on the Pressurized Irrigation system in the next two weeks.  Make sure your PI valve is off until it’s safe to turn back on so you can avoid leaks.

A new roundabout was announced as a collaboration with the city and UDOT at the intersection of 400 N & HWY 51.  They are planning on starting this project at the end of May and hoping to be finished before school starts.  More information can be found on my Facebook page or at the city’s Facebook page.

Garbage collection will not be picking up any materials outside of the container for the safety of the workers during the COVID-19 crisis.

The library is still checking out books after a thorough cleaning and quarantine period.  You must request the books beforehand and you will be notified when they are ready.  Give them a call when you’re curbside and they will check them out to you and place the books on a table outside the door.  They are also allowing a temporary account (that expires in 3 months) to be made online in order to check out digital media.

Let’s do what we can to support our Spanish Fork businesses and shop local.  Call and see if you can order and pay for items over the phone and have them brought to your car.  Most businesses are very accommodating and want to help you.

Check out Spanish Fork’s website for lots more information regarding cancellations of sports, updates on COVID-19, and many other things.
