June 2024 - Spanish Fork Happenings

Utah Food Bank is providing free lunches at the Spanish Fork City Park (100 E 50 S) until August 9th.  The food truck will be there Monday through Friday from 10:30-11:30 AM and each present child 18 and under will receive a free meal to be eaten on-site.  For more information, text FOOD to 304-304

Sunset Nails is opening soon at 788 S Spanish Fork Parkway in the Neighborhood Walmart shopping center.  Once I hear of a grand opening date, I’ll be sure to post about it.

The much needed stoplight at 2300 E and Canyon Road has begun construction.  The light is expected to be completed by August but they’re hoping to have it done sooner.  

Movies in the Park is now “Sounds of Summer” with movies, music and the food trucks every Friday in June and July.  Food trucks start at 5pm and the movies start at “dusk”.  The movie this Friday is Top Gun: Maverick (edited to be family friendly).  Bring a blanket and enjoy the evening at 49 S Main Street!

Spanish Fork City is recognizing residents that have beautiful yards.  Yards “will be based upon: regular mowing and trimming, flower beds, lawn to be free of weeds and disease, trees and shrubs pruned, all planting strips well cared for and attractive to look at”  If you’d like to nominate someone, click here: https://www.spanishfork.org/residents/yardoftheweek.php

The real estate market is holding strong despite interest rates not decreasing for a few weeks. The Feds meet again on June 11-12th to decide if they will lower the federal fund rate or hold it steady.  Buyers are encouraged to get pre approved before they start their home search as well as staying in constant contact with them, in case interest rates fluctuate. The difference between qualifying and not qualifying is super tight with a lot of buyers. Sellers will have to understand that buyers will likely ask for money to put towards closing costs or buying the interest rate down for affordability.  Knowing what to expect as you start your home buying or selling journey will help prepare you for what lies ahead.  Give me a call for a free market analysis or to understand our market better!
