Spanish Fork Happenings November 2024

November 2024 - Spanish Fork Happenings

Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce is presenting their annual Winter Lights Parade on Saturday, November 30th at 7pm on Main Street.  Come bundled up and enjoy the parade down Main Street with Santa coming in last to light the tree on Center and Main.

Chase Bank is wrapping up construction and hopes to be open sometime in December.  It’s located on “bank row” in the parking lot of Lowe’s.

The Festival of Lights is using a ticketed system this year. You can choose your day and time and reserve that spot. The city is hoping to decrease the long lines and wait times to get into Canyon View Park.  There are 1000 tickets available per day.  Go to the city’s website for more information.

Longhorn Steakhouse is planning on opening Jan 27th, 2025 according to their website.  As soon as I hear anything regarding a grand opening, I’ll be sure to let you know.

The Gourmet Way has moved to Payson and it’s rumored that a sushi restaurant is taking their place.  I have not been able to confirm that information but if you know of any truth to that, please let me know.

Crumbl is moving locations from Main Street to 658 N 900 E (near the old HuHot restaurant).  The new building is in the early stages of construction so no date for completion has been announced.

The Utah Department of Transportation is constructing a new I-15 Interchange at 1600 S/2700 N and widening the road from Main St in Spanish Fork to the UP Railroad Tintic line in Springville.  Construction is anticipated to to be completed in late 2026 and will include:

  • Road widened to two lanes in both directions from Main St in SF to the Tintic Line in Springville

As you’re fully aware, Highway 6 has had major improvements from I-15 to Center Street in Spanish Fork.  The final countdown is on for the most congested areas and according to UDOT, “motorists traveling on US-6 should expect changing lane configurations and potential heavy delays. Crews will be working overnight to implement the final lane configurations, including dual left-turn lanes at the Canyon Creek Parkway (1000 North) and Expressway Lane intersections (800 North).

Due to the complexity of the work—removing old pavement striping, placing new striping, adjusting traffic signals, and installing overhead signage—significant delays are possible. Please plan accordingly and exercise caution while driving through the area.

Although the roadway will be in its final configuration, additional work such as trail paving, landscaping, and other finishing touches will continue. Crews will also return next spring to apply the final pavement and striping between 400 North and I-15. We will provide schedule updates next year.”

The real estate world has been seasonally slow (which is typical) and we also have a lot of people wanting to wait until the election is over and things have settled down.  As I write this on Monday evening, we don’t know what tomorrow will bring but people will still need a place to live.  Uncertainty is the name of the game lately but it’s also an amazing time to buy if you can.  Less competition, more freedom for buyers to ask for seller concessions.  A market analysis on your home is always free. Let’s turn uncertainty into your golden opportunity!
